Amos Cole was a descendent of the Rubidoux family from his mother’s side.  The Rubidoux Family is very large and has had some interesting and historical members. The name has as many as 52 different ways to spell Rubidoux, but all are descendants from Andre Robidoux.

Joseph Robidoux, a descendant of Andre Robidoux, came to Canada from Paris, France 1643.  Joseph was a brother to Louis Rubidoux (Rubidoux spelling changed with Louis) who was a founding father of Riverside, Ca. and is our link to the family.

Clyde Rabideau published a book in 1998 of stories of the Robidous that includes the Rubidouxs.  He is currently working on a genealogy book on the Robidous.

Amos Cole is holding Phyllis Ruth Cole with Nellie Cardinez Cole.  Phyllis was born June 15, 1925 at 2:25 a.m. at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles.
Louis W. Rubidoux, 83, died Nov. 17, 2001 in Elgin, Illinois.  He was born on June 9, 1919, in Raton, N.M.  (more)
