Koenig
John Koenig was born in Carmichenk,
Russia about 1880 and died in Canada in 1948. He was the son of Stephen and
Marion Koenig. He married Elizabeth Büz about 1900 and they had four children
in Russia: Barbara, Katherine, Adam and Joe.
John and Elizabeth Koenig immigrated
from Russia after 1910 with three of their children (Kate remained in Russia
with her grandparents) and they lived in Chinook, Montana, where two of their
children (Ed and Helen Marion) were born.
Elizabeth Büz Koenig died giving birth
to twins in Chinook, Montana in 1916.
John then married Rose Schek, a widow,
who had four children (Herbert Scheck, Frank Scheck, Louise Scheck and Albert
Scheck). They immigrated from Montana to Canada where their two sons, Steve and
Bill, were born.
Elizabeth and John had six children,
Barbara (remained in Russia with her grandparents), Katherine (Kate), Adam, Joe,
Edward and Helen Marion (Ella). Elizabeth Büz Koenig died giving birth to twins
in Chinook, Montana in 1916. John then married Rose Schek, a widow, who had
four children (Herbert Scheck, Frank Scheck, Louise Scheck and Albert Scheck).
