Andrew Gette was born on July 1, 1876 in Semenowka or Saduls, Russia, and died on February 12, 1943, in Munich, North Dakota.
He married Elizabeth Koenig in Russia bout 1890 in Russia and they had six children while still living in Russia. They included: Anne Gette, Catherine Gette, Francis Gette, John Gette, Barbara Gette and Elizabeth Gette.
Sometime between 1913 and 1924, Andrew Gette immigrated to the United States with his brother, Ignatz, and began farming near Munich, North Dakota.
Elizabeth Koenig Gette arrived at Ellis Island on September 3, 1924 aboard The Estonia which had departed from Danzig, Germany. She was accompanied by three children: John, Barbara and Elizabeth.
Two other children, Anne and Catherine, apparently died in Russia during the Great Famine and one, Francis, chose to stay with her grandparents.
About ten months after her arrival in the United States, Elizabeth gave birth to their seventh child on July 11, 1925. Andrew and Elizabeth Gette had their first child born as an American citizen, Joseph Eugene Gette. Elizabeth died on December 23, 1928 in Munich, North Dakota.
On July 6, 1930, Andrew married a widow, Catherine Keehn, in Munich, North Dakota, and they had two children: Rose Mary and Edwin.
