Our
branch of the Cole family came to California in the late 1800's from
Austria. On January 16, 1899, Christopher Cole married Frances
Rubidoux Trujillo who is traced to the Rubidoux family for whom the city
of Rubidoux, California, is named.
Christopher and Frances Cole had seven children. They were: Art, Everett, Carolyn, Jean, Amos, Harry and Ethel.
Thanks to Ron Cole (son of Everett Cole), we have additional information on the Cole family and he provided us with many new family photos and additional information.
The last that we heard of Art Cole was many years ago and he was living in the Palm Springs area with his wife Dorothy after his retirement from the auto parts business.
Amos Cole married Nellie Cardinez in the early 1920's and they had three children. Their first child was Phyllis Ruth Cole who was born on June 15, 1925, in San Bernardino, California and died on March 26, 1997, in San Angelo, Texas. They also had two sons. Rudy was born about 1928 and died about 1980. He was married twice and had a daughter, Nell, with his first wife, Mary, and a son, Christopher, with his second wife. Howard was also married twice and had three children with his first wife, Betty. The children were Wayne Howard (deceased), Sharon and Howard. Around 1948, Amos and Nellie divorced and he married Eloise Raymaker. Amos and Eloise had three children: Amisa, Chris (deceased) and Anthony (deceased).
